Janine Allen CPDT
As a professional dog trainer for 25 years, Janine enjoys obedience competitions with her Labrador Retrievers. She received a degree in Exotic Animal Training and Management from Moorpark College and spent several years as a wildlife researcher, zookeeper and a birds-of-prey trainer/presenter. She has served as a humane educator in public schools, raised Guide Dog puppies and trained miniature horses for entertainment venues.
Janine’s passion is working with people and their dogs. Using least aversive, scientific methods, she modifies behavior without choke collars or corrections - and minimal verbal commands. She has been clicker training for 20 years.
As a trainer for Rescue Me Dog, Janine provides demonstrations for those who have adopted shelter dogs, lends email support to adopted dog owners that need information beyond our Training Support Pages, and aids shelter staff and volunteers in understanding dog behavior to increase their adoptability.
Janine is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and is in good standing with the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.
